11000-05101 Takahe (Porphyrio hochstetteri) with it's re-discoverer, the late Dr Geoffrey Orbell (1908-2007). This picture was taken almost fifty years after Orbell re-discovered the 'Notornis', near this spot on November 20,1948. 'Doc' Orbell was ninety at the time Rod took this photo in Takahe Valley, Murchison Mountains in October 1998 *
