DSC_3883 Red ripple bryozoan (Watersipora subtorquata) an introduced bryozoan found encrusting the underside of rocks. It is fairly copper tolerant, so it can grow on anti-fouling treated surfaces, such as the hulls of ships, and in this way has spread to harbours, marinas and aquaculture structures around the world. It appeared at Dunedin in New Zealand in 1982, and was recorded from several sites to nearly the northern tip of New Zealand by 1992. Harrington Point, Otago Harbour *
