DSC_4106 Hebe (Hebe pimeleoides subsp. pimeleoides) detail of flowers. A low growing blue-green shrub bearing pairs of small oval leaves on reddish stems inhabiting dry valleys in the South Island. Hebe pimeleiodes varies considerably in stature, from small mat-forming plants to sprawling plants with long trailing stems. It also varies in leaf shape, size and colour. This particular form was previously referred to as Hebe pimeleoides 'var. minor.' Flowers purplish, in spikes of up to 12 flowers. Lake Tennyson *
