DSC_3093 Roimata pittosporum, or tāwhirikaro (Pittosporum roimata) a shrub epiphyte, growing on rocks or other trees. Branches have a distinctive whorled architecture, with 3-5 oval pointed leaves and delicately perfumed, orange-yellow flowers on long stalks in spring. It is endemic to the Poor Knights Islands. Phylogenetic studies suggest a New Caledonian origin for the species. *
