11005-21503 Bush giant dragonfly, kapokapowai or 'Devils darning needle' (Uropetala carovei), adult male at rest on tree fern frond - this species typically rests on fern fronds, logs and rocks. Large even by by world standards, this is our largest endemic dragonfly.
