11005-57022 Native bee (Leioproctus boltoni) taking nectar from pink tree broom flower.. This seems to be one of the most widespread, and abundant native bee throughout New Zealand. Occuring from sea level to 1050m, and wherever its favoured native host flowers - manuka and kanuka - are found. However this species has also been recorded on other native, and introduced species, so there may be some plasticity in pollen collecting behaviour. Molesworth *
