11809-18003 Phillip Island Hibiscus (Hibiscus insularis) endemic to Phillip Island in the Norfolk Island Group, where the species is confined to just three small patches on the northern slopes of the island. In 1963, there were only eight surviving hibiscus plants. These last few plants had survived despite the grazing pigs, goats and rabbits which destroyed most of the Island's vegetation. The introduced browsers have since been removed *
