DSC_2796 Fungus root (Balanophora fungosa fungosa) a root parasite in tropical rainforests from near sea level to 900 metres in Australia, Taiwan, Indonesia, Ryukyu Islands, New Guinea, the Philippines, and some Pacific Islands, as well as India and Cambodia. The white tipped structures at the base are male flowers. The female flowers are the very very small white dots on the top of the dome.
